ADA was appointed in charge of organization and coordination works for the 2005 World Exposition, which took place March 25 through September 25, 2005 (185 days) in Aichi, Japan. The EXPO 2005 emphasized the close links binding humanity to nature in the 21st century through its theme of "Nature's Wisdom", according to which ADA elaborated a timetable of its activities. The staff members of ADA on a rotation basis were working in the Expo providing information to the visitors of Armenian Pavilion. The information varied to general and more specific field of interest of numerous visitors, our Pavilion was attracting. In total, more than 22 million people attended the EXPO instead of the projected 15 million. At least 10% of the total flow of attendants went through Armenia’s Pavilion. The EXPO was memorable with the presentation of a book titled “Forgotten Armenian Genocide” by Hiroshi Segava, professor of Nagoya University. The Government of Japan showed financial assistance to Nagoya University with the aim of organizing the presentation of the book in four other cities: Kyoto, Osaka, Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
One of the major tools for ADA in export promoting is to support and organize joint Armenian participations in international fairs, particularly in specialized events. ADA is entrusted with assisting active participation of Armenian manufacturers in all international and intergovernmental exhibitions which are carried out in countries and regions considered as priority markets for national producers as well as with organizing international fairs in Armenia. In 2002, almost 150 Armenian companies represented themselves at different Trade Fairs. The goal of joint Armenian participation is to create an ideal forum, first of all for small and medium sized companies, for entering markets, expanding exports, and creating cooperative and supply connections.
To be successful while providing assistance for organization trade fairs ADA collaborates with different international organizations working in Armenia such as USDA, USAID, IESC, etc., and local organizations such as “Armenian manufacturers and entrepreneurs union”, “Association of Armenian Cheese Producers”, etc. In previous years Armenian companies were assisted to participate in several international and intergovernmental exhibitions.
